At the turn of the millennium, a rumor started to spread into the mainstream consciousness about a ubiquitous error in computer code that would cause computers to reset during the transition from 1999 to 2000, making the world’s computerized systems grind to a halt. In this highly entertaining, all-archival documentary, directors Brian Becker and Marley McDonald recall the phenomenon of the “Y2K bug” and the potential technological and societal breakdown it might cause (as well as the merchandising boom it sparked) through a treasure trove of candid footage.
