This striking feature debut by writer-director Paula González-Nasser (one of Filmmaker Magazine’s 25 New Faces of Film) is among the few contemporary films to accurately depict the slow rhythms and grinding labor of modern film production. Set against the urban sprawl of New York City, the film follows a young TV location scout (Mimi Davila) across a single day as she travels across boroughs in and out of other people’s intimate spaces, code-switching and navigating around the anxieties of her clients and fellow crew members just to get the job done. Full of droll humor and sharp characterizations, the film’s formal restraint nods to a distinct strain of mid-century arthouse cinema, while giving a fresh and compelling perspective of the small indignities and invisible labor that keep the entertainment industry running.

A Greenwich Films release. Special thanks to Jasper Basch.

"A contemplative and funny portrait of a city, an industry, and the sacrifices needed to live in both." -The AV Club
